Even though many parents claim they don't have a favorite, some children and older siblings might disagree.
Clinical Psychologist Angie Vorster spoke to the Good Morning Breakfast team about the impact of having a favorite child or having children who think their brother or sister is the favorite child.

For both favored and unfavored youngsters, the greatest long-term risks include performance anxiety, unstable or even painful reactions in personal relationships, and depression.
Parents might also be shocked to hear that in this situation, perception seems to have more sway than fact. So it doesn't really matter if Mom or Dad do in fact have a favorite. The only thing that matters is whether a child believes they do.
