This is the embarrassing moment a woman accidentally read a text message sent to her son after mistaking his phone for her own.

Rory Mellor, 26, was enjoying a quiet night in at his family home in Austin, Texas.

His wife Anna, 25, sent him a risqué message during a game of cards but it was intercepted by her mother-in-law Maurie Simons, 51, who was less than impressed.     

The 'dirty text challenge' is the latest trend to sweep across TikTok. 

Those taking part have to send a lewd message to their other halves in front of family or friends and film their reaction. 

But the challenge is not usually meant to result in another family member reading the message themselves.
