Weird Wide Web - Would you dare jump here?─── 15:18 Tue, 02 Nov 2021
Bridges can be a bit scary and intimidating, but imagine if bridges could be fun...
Well, that's exactly what happened here! Earlier this year, the team at Dunking Devils Squad took charge and build not only the first trampoline bridge, but they also hit the record for the world's biggest trampoline.
Nine years ago, an idea spread like wildfire across the internet - to make a trampoline bridge over Paris’s River Seine. Although the concept soon went viral, it remained unrealised until 2021.
According to Ripleys.com, "To bring the Bridge Bounce Ljubljana event together, the DD Squad joined forces with the event agency Extrem. Their goal? Creating an event that would not only amaze and thrill vast crowds but allow them plenty of opportunities to hop along. Akrobat, a Slovenian trampoline maker, brought the technical aspects of the project to life, and the tourism boards of Ljubljana and Slovenia threw in their full support along with many smaller partners."
Unfortunately, the bridge was only up for two days, but in those two days, more than five thousand people had their turn jumping across one side to the next. Find the full article here.
Would this work in Central South Africa? Maybe somewhere in Clarens or Ladysmith. Guess we'll just have to wait for someone brave enough to try it.
