It turns out Disneyland isn’t always the happiest place on Earth, as Disneyland Paris has issued an apology after an employee recently 'ruined' a marriage proposal at the theme park.

A proposal has to be one of the best memories any lady wants to keep. But what happens when your dream proposal is ruined by someone who was just doing their job? Well, this is exactly what happened at Disneyland Paris.  Found on ladbible, a short video that has since gone viral, shows a man kneeling on one knee about to pop the question to his significant other in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. But before he can finish the proposal, a Disneyland staff member runs over and abruptly snatches the ring box from his hand.

The employee then redirects the couple to capture the romantic moment on a different platform, saying: "Yes that’s great, but it’ll be even better over here", resulting in boos from onlookers.

Whether this area of the amusement park was strictly off-limits, or the employee was simply trying to find a better location for the grand gesture, this man’s timing is horrendous.

Newsweek reports that shortly after the awkward moment, a Disney spokesperson decided to address the situation and apologise.  They said: "We regret how this was handled. We have apologised to the couple involved and offered to make it right."

Regardless of the apology, many have slammed the Disney staff member anyway for intervening, with one person writing: "Disney must pay him a good amount of money to taint people's ‘magical moments’". Another person said: “If this were me, I wouldn't have even known they were an employee. I would have thought they were [a thief] because they just ripped a diamond ring out [of] my hands.”  Read more on this story by clicking here.

Now for some good news.  This past week, Mid-morning Magic's Battle of the Ages took an unexpected but happy turn. A couple got engaged, live on radio! Read more about it here: #BattleOfTheAges: Sy het ja gesê! OFM-luisteraars raak verloof regstreeks op die lug
