With the recent increase in the cost of fuel, again, we decided to contact oom Nicolaas, just to hear what he thought. What he said left us shocked and gobsmacked!
In 2022 alone, South Africans have seen the price of fuel increase a couple of times since the beginning of the year. According to iol, the recent increases, announced on in July, saw the price of 95 Unleaded rising to R26.09 at the coast and R26.74 in the inland regions, where 93 Unleaded will now cost R26.31. The wholesale price of 50ppm diesel will now be R24.93 at the coast and R25.252 inland, keeping in mind that retail prices for this unregulated fuel will be somewhat higher than that.
As expected, Oom Nicolaas had a couple of thoughts on this issue. What we didn't expect however, is the angle he took on this matter. What we thought was going to be a rant about the increase, was actually a rant about something totally different.
