Woman plummets to death at popular Maftown Heights concert─── MOLEBOGENG MALEBO 12:54 Sat, 08 Dec 2018
An unidentified woman allegedly fell to her death on Saturday, 8 December, while attending the 2018 Maftown Heights music show held in Mahikeng, in the North West.
According to North West police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, the woman believed to be in her twenties, fell from a stand at the Mmabatho Stadium where the event was held.
“The incident occurred at around 01:00. According to information available at this stage, the woman was immediately treated by a doctor and paramedics, but she sadly passed and was certified dead on the scene,” said Mokgwabone.
The music show that featured performances from popular North West natives, such as Cassper Nyovest and Khuli Chana, forms part of the annual Mahika Mahikeng Cultural Festival which attracts people by the numbers.
The police request that anyone who can assist with the identification of the woman should contact Colonel Olebogeng Moraka at 082-569-2334 or Detective Warrant Officer Andries Moepeng at 082-455-4486.
