Vaal residents to prepare for water disruption─── 10:27 Sun, 28 Apr 2019
Residents of Sasolburg in Metsimaholo Local Municipality in the Free State and Vanderbijlpark in Emfuleni in Gauteng have been issued with a water shut down warning.
The water interruptions are expected to start on Monday 29 April until Thursday 02 from 05:00 to 17:00.
This as Rand Water plans a shutdown on the B11 Lethabo and Vereeniging raw water pipeline to install a 2000mm valve.
The service provider says in a statement that the shutdown will result in the reduction of the supply to reservoirs in these areas by 40 millilitres as day, which will affect the pressures to the furthest areas.
Other areas expected to be affected by the water interruption includes Naledi, Vaalpark, Welgelegen and Zamdela Extensions.
Rand Water says no guarantee can be given that the water supply will not be interrupted beyond the period specified above but has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
