Members of the Bfn community fill FS legislature gallery to capacity─── LUCKY NKUYANE 12:36 Wed, 22 May 2019

Members of the public in the Free State filled the legislature gallery to capacity with enthusiasm on Wednesday 22 May 2019 to witness the swearing-in of lawmakers in the form of MPLs.
In their different political party regalia, the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) and the African National Congress (ANC) party members were out in their numbers to witness the event were Sisi Ntombela was finally sworn in as the premier of the province.
The swearing in of Ntombela and others comes two weeks after the ANC emerged victories on the 8 May 2019 six democratic general elections and retained the FS with a margin of 66%. Despite the win by the ANC, this means that it timeout its majority win with only 19 seats available and at least 3 seats been cut down.
The leader of the Democratic Alliance, which is the ANC’s official opposition party, Roy Jankielsohn also reminded the newly appointed members of the oath of office that they took and urged those not elected in the provincial government’s executive committee to hold those elected in Ntombela’s cabinet to account.
The ANC's chairperson in the Free State Sam Mashinini reminded the Premier that she was elected by people of the province and even in the midst of criticism she must never look back but she must soldier on. He further appealed to Members of the Provincial Legislature who are aware of corruption to approach the South African Police Services (SAPS) to report it.
Meanwhile, the ANC Free State Caucus also today met for its first sitting in the 6th Term of the Democratic dispensation. The Provincial Secretary of the ANC, Paseka Nompondo, welcomed the newly elected public representatives. The party announced that the following public representatives would lead the Free State Legislature for the current term :
1. Speaker of the Free State Legislature: Zanele Sifuba
2. Deputy Speaker of the Free State Legislature: Lucy Mapena
3. Chairperson of Committees: Comrade Mojalefa Buti
4. Chief Whip of the Free State Legislature: Comrade Vusimuzi Tshabalala
5. Premier: Comrade Sisi Ntombela
The ANC Free State also announced that its caucus will be led by the Vusimuzi Tshabalala, who will be the party in the province’s Chief Whip, while his deputy chief whip will be Sarah Moleleki.
