Department organises big screen for rugby final | News Article

A big television screen will be put up at Hoffman Square in Bloemfontein tomorrow from 09:00 as the Springboks take on England in the Rugby World Cup final in Yokohama, Japan.

The Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture in the Free State has organised a public viewing area for people to enjoy the final match.

The department’s spokesperson, Tankiso Zola, says the department wants to promote social cohesion and nation-building for Free Staters as tomorrow will mark a historic event.

This public screening comes as the South African team has made it to the finals and will clash with England in a battle to lift the trophy.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup commenced on 20 September with Russia playing the host nation, Japan. The tournament ends tomorrow.

Today, New Zealand won the Bronze against Wales, 40 points to 17.
