SANDF-accident: No funeral arrangements─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 08:05 Mon, 22 Aug 2016
Bloemfontein - No funeral arrangements have been confirmed yet for 11 members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) who died in a bus accident near Golden Gate in the Free Sate on Friday.
SANDF spokesperson, Xolani Mabanga, says they are still in consultation with the families of the women who died when a bus transporting 42 people overturned on the R712 in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park.
The bus was from Qwaqwa after members attended a Women's Month celebration.
He says the SANDF are in contact with the families. "We gave them space over the weekend to deal with the shock and grief." He says discussions will continue today.
Mabanga says eight injured soldiers are still receiving treatment at the 3 Military Hospital in Bloemfontein. According to him two injured soldiers, who are being treated in other hospitals in the city, are in a critical but stable condition.
