Trompsburg Hospital construction reaches completion─── REFILWE GAESWE 15:34 Fri, 14 Nov 2014
Trompburg - The long-awaited completion of the Trompburg Hospital is nearing with its practical completion and technical handover scheduled to take place on today.
Spokesperson of the Department of Public Works in the Free State, Winkie Direko says the date of the official handover will be announced as agreed upon by the departmental principals.
Direko says the Department of Public Works' delay in handing the Trompsburg Hospital over to the Department of Health came about because they were attending to latent defects in a bid to ensure the building was state-of-the-art.
The Trompsburg Hospital was built in 2011 and Public Works reported last year that it would officially be opened September 2013.
Earlier this month the provincial legislature committee’s chairperson Lucy Mapena said they visited the hospital and no one could provide proper answers on when the hospital would officially be handed over to the Department of Health.
