Agri Hour
What’s new in Farmer’s Weekly?─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 07:33 Fri, 05 Jul 2019
In our Friday insert only on Before Dawn, OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller speaks to the editor of Farmer's Weekly, Denine Erasmus, about what to expect in their latest edition…
Erasmus shares some news stories in the magazine’s 12 July issue. A commodity update is given in the magazine’s news section, especially focusing on the Canola harvest which looks positive at this stage. A 9% increase in areas planted is expected. There is also a story on the avocado harvest currently underway. The expectation is, however, that exports have been revised downwards mainly because of the strong demand for the fruit. Another story in the magazine entails an appeal by the recently founded movement: “Don’t move fire wood South Africa”, to not transport fire wood between different regions in the country as this can help prevent tree pests from spreading. There is also an update on trading conditions for agribusinesses in South Africa and globally.
That was Denine Erasmus, editor of Farmer's Weekly, on OFM. To listen to this insert again, go to ofm.co.za, click on News, Agriculture, and Before Dawn. To listen to these inserts again go to ofm.co.za, click on News, Agriculture and Before Dawn.
