What is new in Farmer’s Weekly?─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 07:07 Mon, 30 Sep 2019
In our Friday insert, only on Before Dawn, OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller speaks to Denine Erasmus about what to expect in their latest edition of Farmer’s Weekly.
Erasmus talks about the October 4, issue of Farmer's Weekly which focuses on a story from the Free State about 11 people that have been treated following a rabies scare. The situation is at the moment well under control with people that were exposed to the two dogs, expected to have rabies, being treated.
She also focuses on a story about the finalisation of the post-Brexit deal between the United Kingdom (UK) and Southern Africa.
In another story, seed potato farmers have been warned against a devastating new potato disease. There is also a story on the recent Potato Seed Growers Annual Conference and Potato SA’s Annual Conference that took place in Cape Town last week.
The magazine also has a story about Dr Vuyo Mahlati, president of the African Farmer's Association of South Africa, AFASA SA, who went into detail about the recent land panel report of which she was the chairperson. Mahlati made an interesting comment at an event about high-end properties, like expensive wine farms in the Western Cape, that have been in families for many generations, which are not likely to be the target of expropriation going forward.
That was Denine Erasmus, editor of Farmer's Weekly, on OFM. To listen to this insert again, go to ofm.co.za, click on News, Agriculture, and Before Dawn.
