Agri Hour
What is new in Farmer’s Weekly?─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 11:10 Fri, 01 Nov 2019
OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller speaks to the Editor of Farmer’s Weekly, Denine Erasmus, about what to expect in their latest edition of the magazine.
She focuses on the November 8 issue of the magazine with a story about different weather conditions in some parts of the country which are affecting both the harvest of the winter crop as well as the planting of summer grain crops. Extreme heat conditions in the Western Cape and Southern Cape will have an impact on the wheat harvest.
In another story, the magazine focuses on the latest development in the Lesotho wool and mohair trading environment.
Erasmus also highlights a story on Parliament, with the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform which has been included under the Department of Agriculture, that reported back to its portfolio committee about the agri parks programme that must be driven by this department. The current situation brings no good news, with the project being a complete failure.
Farmer’s Weekly also take a look at the bread price.
