What is new in Farmer’s Weekly?─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 05:40 Fri, 22 Nov 2019
In our Friday insert, only on Before Dawn, OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller speaks to the Editor of Farmer’s Weekly, Denine Erasmus, about what to expect in their latest edition of the magazine…
Erasmus highlights the November 29 cover date of Farmer’s Weekly. She says the magazine still has a lot of coverage on the drought situation in different areas of the country with some mixed reactions from farmers in KwaZulu-Natal that received some good rain. In other areas of the province there were some extreme weather conditions including tornado's and hail in some areas, which has left farmers happy about the rain, but there has been some crop damage.
In another news article government still has no plans to declare the drought a national disaster, however parts of the Western Cape have been declared disaster areas (Southern Cape and Overberg). Erasmus also highlights a story about a record export volume for South African lemons this season.
