What is new in Farmer’s Weekly?─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 06:22 Fri, 29 Nov 2019
In our Friday insert, only on Before Dawn, OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller speaks to the Editor of Farmer’s Weekly, Denine Erasmus, about what to expect in their latest edition of the magazine…
Erasmus highlights the December 6 issue, which entails an update on the latest outbreak of the foot-and-mouth disease in Limpopo with more strict control measures that are being implemented. She says the magazine speaks to some industry roleplayers who reiterate the importance of implementing a compartmentalised system for these types of livestock deceases.
In another news story, the magazine highlights the great growth potential for drones in the agriculture sector and provides information about a recent conference held for drone users in the Western Cape. The market for drones is expected to grow from around R200 billion in 2018 to R638 billion in 2020.
Erasmus also highlights a story about the President of Free State Agriculture, Francois Wilken, who has made an urgent appeal to the government to directly assist farmers in the province in drought conditions while crime and poor economic growth are weighing in on them.
