Agri Hour
What's new in Farmer's Weekly?─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 05:35 Fri, 10 Apr 2020
In our Friday insert, only on Before Dawn, OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller speaks to the editor of Farmer’s Weekly, Denine Erasmus, about the latest news in the agricultural industry covered by the magazine on its website...
See PODCAST below
She highlights a heartening story about the food moveforward-movement which entails a project to support food security in vulnerable communities in South Africa. Local farmers have thus far responded positive with R 5.6 million in financial donations which have come in and close to R12 million in food donations have been pledged. Together with that, farmers from Swellendam donate 30 tonnes of citrus fruit weekly to vulnerable communities in that municipal area.
In another story the magazine reports on more good news regarding the ban that was originally instated during the lock down period on wine exports which has now been partially lifted. This allows for wine that have been already been packaged or bulk wine to be exported to other countries.
That was Denine Erasmus editor of Farmer's Weekly only on the Agri Hour.
