She speaks about the June 19 and 26 issue currently available on shelves in shops. There is a few articles focusing on how food price trends are emerging as Covid-19 lockdown regulations are easing across the world. There is a greater sense now of how deep the economic impact thereof is going to be.

Earlier this week the global economic forecast that was released by the Global Economic Bank expects that the global economy will decline by more than 5% and South Africa's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to plunge with at least 7%.

She says if the global food prices are taken into account, the impact of this economic decline on consumer's spending power is starting to affect food prices. Farmer's Weekly reports in this issue about the latest global food price report by the food and agricultural organisations by the United Nations (UN).

In another news story the magazine focuses on the local dairy industry and what the outlook is for this industry. As the country enters the winter months, which is traditionally a lower production season for local dairy farmers, these farmers are urged to not take chances in chasing high volumes. This despite some indication that dairy prices might recover going into the winter season.

There is another story about the game and hunting industry that has received the good news that some restrictions will be lifted. Biltong hunting is now allowed under strict conditions.
