She highlights content in the July 3 and 10 combined issue of the magazine. She says this will be the last of the by-weekly issues as they will in the next issue switch back to their weekly publishing schedule. This will be the July 17 issue. In the magazine's feature section there is an article looking at some of those investments that farmers made over the last five years, that have paid off very well. One article looks at specifically bulls and rams that sold for record prices at auctions. This includes the Dorper ram that sold for R600 000 and a Boran bull that sold for R1 million. Those buyers were asked if that very high price was worth it in the end?
In anther feature article the focus is on fresh produce that has performed the best on the national fresh produce markets over the last five years. That is in terms of price increases and the increase in volume sold. Ginger comes out as the crop that has increased both most in volume and value on the market.
Some news stories in the magazine features the Canola season which has just gotten underway in the Western Cape, especially in the southern Cape region. The season started off well for farmers, but is now panning out less favourably. Farmers both in the Swartland and the southern Cape region were able to plant under favourable conditions, but germination problems occurred due to insufficient rain after planting in April.
Also looking at the recent increases in crime in rural areas, a big problem during level 5 and 4 of the lockdown.
