#FarmMurders: Doctor, driving 2 500 km with tractor, reaches Central SA─── ELSABÉ RICHARD 05:00 Wed, 05 May 2021
Dr André Hattingh, the founder of Paediatric Care Africa, is expected to reach Koster in the North West with his tractor on Wednesday 5 May.
This follows after he departed from White River in Mpumalanga this past Sunday.
Hattingh is driving 2 500km on his tractor to raise awareness of children in need of medical surgery, as well as farm murders in South Africa.

Hattingh shares that they are supporting the 911 Riders in their fight against farm murders in South Africa. He adds that he grew up on a farm, so supporting farmers is important to him.
“There are two things in the world that a country cannot be without which is their farmers and their children. What is happening at the moment is… a lady and her disabled son were killed on a farm last week [in Nelspruit]. So, this is becoming a bit of a plague and we’re very, very concerned.
“We are very proud to support the 911 Riders in their fight against the farm murders,” explains Hattingh.
Furthermore, he embarked on this ride to raise funds for disadvantaged children all over the country who need surgeries as well as for children who need medical attention.
Hattingh emphasised that this is not political and asked the public to show their support by donating funds for charity.

Pediatric Care Africa
Pediatric Care Africa is a registered non-profit organisation that provides lifesaving assistance and hope to less fortunate children in local communities and throughout South Africa.
“The work we as an organisation does is truly remarkable. Our main focus is primarily, but not exclusively on children from birth to age 18. We identify special needs in children and address the needs by assisting with visits to specialists, supplying medical treatment and medication as well as life-changing operations.
“We also supply food to malnourished and hungry children and their families. Pediatric Care Africa recognises the devastating effect Covid-19 has on our children and their families. We are currently involved in supporting four informal settlements, supplying medical treatments and food. Since lockdown started on 26 March last year, the number of children we helped increased from 350 to 2 000.”
