Mangaung Metro meets with Bloem Water over looming restrictions─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 06:17 Fri, 04 Feb 2022
The cash-strapped Mangaung Metro Municipality’s newly appointed Acting City Manager met with the board of Bloem Water in an effort to avert a water crisis.
Being in his position for just a week, Teboho Maine met with Bloem Water CEO, Limakatso Moorosi, following a water restrictions threat due to the Metro's outstanding debt.
The waterboard’s communication manager, Caesarine Mogorosi, confirmed the meeting after OFM News reported earlier that Mangaung Metro defaulted on its payment agreement.
In a leaked letter to the municipality, the water board warned the municipality that water flow will be restricted in Mangaung should the outstanding balance amounting to millions be not paid by 1 March.
