Harrismith electricity crisis being addressed─── 12:51 Thu, 15 Sep 2022

Resolutions for the electricity crisis in Harrismith are underway.
This is according to the Maluti-a-Phofung (MAP) municipality spokesperson, Thabo Kessah, who mentioned in a media statement that work would start on Thursday (15 September, 2022) at 10:00.
He says a service provider has been appointed, who will be closely monitored by officials from the municipality.
Kessah reiterated that at this stage it is still difficult to estimate when the work will be completed, as each stage will need to undergo multiple tests that will certify work expected to be covered.
Futhermore, he mentioned that “due to the magnitude of the work to be done, all residents are requested to allow work to proceed peacefully without any undue interference and pressure”.
OFM News previously reported that quotations were set to close at 13:00 (14 September, 2022) whereafter a service provider would be appointed.
