North West driving school owner in court─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:30 Wed, 25 Jan 2023

The owner of a driving school in North West and three examiners are expected to appear before the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for alleged corruption and fraud.
The suspects were arrested on Tuesday during a takedown operation in Ventersdorp, Klerksdorp, and Jouberton by a multi-disciplinary team comprising of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit, Commercial Crime Unit, Crime Intelligence and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) officials.
According to North West police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, their arrests emanate from the termination of the Crocodile Farm Project which was initiated in 2021, after information was received about the apparent corrupt activities at the Klerksdorp municipal licensing and testing stations.
“The suspects, who include three examiners and the owner of a driving school, allegedly colluded and conducted numerous unlawful driver's and learner’s license transactions in exchange for cash. The arrests came approximately forty days after eight suspects were nabbed at the Vryburg and Ganyesa licensing and testing stations for corruption and fraud,” concluded Mokgwabone.
