Businesses and households in Tshiame A, B, C, and D in the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality in the Free State, are without electricity again.
Magolokweng and the Harrismith Special Economic Zone (SEZ) are also affected.
The municipality says lightning caused damage to the Greenland substation.
Earlier this week, it indicated that the substation was receiving urgent attention.
However, residents have different viewpoints about what the municipality announced. Some residents believe that the municipal leadership and other political leaders are playing political games.
One of the residents, Mthenjwa Ndaba, told OFM News that most of the businesses are consequently closing down.
He says the high unemployment rate is uncontrollable because of the politicians who allegedly know them only during election campaigns.
Maintenance work was done at the substation last week.
