Four members of the ANC in the Free State have been sworn in as Members of the Provincial Legislature (MPLs) on Monday. They are Makume, Mahlatsi, Leeto, and Letsoha-Mathae.

The legislature had four vacancies following the resignations of the former Free State premier, Sisi Ntombela, Jabulani Radebe, and Polediso Motsoeneng and the passing of Tate Makgoe, the MEC for Education.

Makume was elected as the deputy provincial chairperson of the ANC in the Free State in January.

Mahlatsi is a former member of the National Assembly. Before she was elected to parliament in 2019, Mahlatsi worked for the Free State Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport and the Free State Department of Social Development.

Leeto is currently the treasurer of the ANC in the Free State and a former MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation.
