A tactical operation by a multi-disciplinary team conducted between 16 and 17 March in the Bojanala district in North West resulted in the arrest of four suspects for various house robberies.
The arrests followed a series of house robberies in the Rustenburg and Marikana areas. On 23 February a house robbery was reported at Club 20 Modderfontein, Rustenburg, where four suspects, armed with firearms, allegedly robbed the victim and also took his firearm.
Another house robbery was committed on 3 March at a small holding in Rustenburg, where four armed males allegedly robbed the victim of her vehicle and electric appliances.
In addition, a house robbery was reported in Koster on 3 March where four males armed with firearms robbed guests of cell phones, liquor and two vehicles.
Following the investigations and subsequent operation, the first suspect, Dos Santos, 28, was apprehended in Marikana and items worth R9000 were recovered from him. The tactical team then proceeded to another address and found the second suspect. Poppy Mnisi, 28, was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and ammunition.
