Thabo Bester victim: Parents in court attendance─── LUCKY NKUYANE 10:14 Tue, 20 Jun 2023
The parents of the late Katlego Bereng, whose body was used as a decoy for the convicted Facebook rapist and murderer Thabo Bester to escape prison, are both attending the appearance of suspects in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court.
Batho Mpholo and Monica Matsie, who are both Bereng's parents, are seen at court in the company of Free State Action SA leader, Patricia Kopane.
Suspects, including Bester, Nandipha Magudumana, and all others will on Tuesday appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court.
It's understood that Bester will again appear virtually before Magistrate Mohlolo Khabisi in Court 19. He is kept at the Kgosi Mampuru Maximum Correctional Centre in Pretoria.
Thabo Bester, with the help of several accused, faked his own death by setting the decoy body of Bereng alight in his cell in the Mangaung Correctional Centre (MCC) on 3 May 2022 when he escaped. Follow this link to listen to our podcast series:
