A total of 181 provincial officials from the Free State Training and Development Institute are set to graduate, following the successful completion of their academic achievements.
The graduates completed various public administration qualifications, which included NQF Level 5 and 6 programmes piloted and delivered by FSTDI. The cohort also undertook an NQF Level 5 recognition of prior learning programme funded by the Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority, along with an NQF Level 7 qualification introduced in response to the premier’s call to build stronger leadership and management capacity in the public sector.
Free State premier MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae and other senior officials in the Free State are expected to attend the ceremony, which highlights the institute’s crucial role in creating a capable, moral, and progressive state in accordance with national priorities.

“We are excited!” said Letsoha-Mathae. “We do not just hand out certificates; we invest in the very engine of a capable state. Each graduate here is a testament to our unwavering commitment to building a professional public service that delivers on its promise to the people of the Free State.”
The occasion will honor the graduates’ dedication while also showcasing FSTDI’s calculated move to new occupational credentials, which will guarantee the public service workforce in the Free State continues to advance professionally.
To celebrate this achievement, the Free State Training and Development Institute will host a graduation ceremony at the Bloemfontein Sand du Plessis Theatre, Pacofs, in Bloemfontein on Thursday (30/10) at 09:00.
Education and skills development
Meanwhile, in the premier’s keynote address at the provincial Exco budget planning lekgotla, she emphasised the importance of prioritising education and skills development.
“We should address pressures in the compensation budget for education, health and community safety, roads and transport, resolve outstanding accruals, and improve learner outcomes, particularly in underperforming districts.”
