Reverend John Bok narrowly missed a flying SUV as it tumbled over his roof but did not even realise what had happened until hours later.

The Franciscan priest is blind in his left eye and wears hearing aids, so did not see the high-speed crash occur despite it coming within inches of him.

He said to the Catholic News Agency: "I did not know that that car went over the top of me because I was looking ahead and it was to my left and above."

Footage showed the car on its way to crash into Bok's vehicle on the driver's side, but the car was lifted up in the air as a road sign suddenly became a ramp.

The car luckily landed on all four wheels and an unaware Bok simply continued to drive away from the scene, completely unaware of what happened.

“And out of the corner of my eye I sensed something went by, but I just thought it was a bird or something like that."

Bok's close call was caught on camera by the funeral home across the street.

The incident occurred on October 2 when Bok was on his way to the St Andrew Catholic Church in Milford, Ohio, where there was a Mass on the Feast of the Guardian Angels.
