A pair of Birkenstock sandals, formerly owned and worn by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, was auctioned for more than $200 000.
According to UPI, the "well-used" brown suede sandals, along with an NFT, fetched $218 750 (R3,8 million).
The sandals had been worn regularly by Jobs, who passed away in 2011, according to California-based Julien's Auctions.
The item description states, "The cork and jute footbed maintains the impression of Steve Jobs' feet, which had been formed after years of wear."
In the 1970s and 1980s, when Apple was just getting started, Jobs would regularly be spotted sporting Birkenstock sandals.
According to Darren Julien, CEO of Julien's Auctions, "Steve Jobs transformed the world - not only with his groundbreaking ideas but also with his corporate leadership style and fashion choices."
