Power supply to some parts of Potchefstroom was affected this morning due to an earth wire that burnt off on the 66 KV overhead lines feeding from the Beta substation to the Gamma substation.
The overhead line has since been isolated from the rest of Potchefstroom and is being restored.
Tlokwe City Council spokesperson William Maphosa says due to the danger of hurting workers the whole 66 KV line feeding Gamma substation had to b isolated.
Currently the whole of the Bult, the north area of the CBD, Mooivallei, Sanitas and Dagbreek rural areas are off.
