Bloemfontein - The SA Weather Service has warned of extremely strong winds and hot, dry conditions in the Free State ahead of a severe cold front expected to hit the central interior by tomorrow.
Sihle Kunene from the Bloemfontein weather office says the strong north-westerly winds pose a danger for runaway veld fires, particularly in the eastern regions of the Free State.
Kunene has urged caution, especially in places like Parys, Frankfort, Bethlehem, Warden and Senekal.

He says the coldest conditions are expected in the southern parts of the Free State near Aliwal North and higher lying areas on the Lesotho border.
