Bloemfontein - The Department of Correctional Services has released the convicted Emoya Estate arsonist from prison today because the Bloemfontein Regional Court stipulated he only needed to serve one sixth of his prison sentence.
Free State and Northern Cape Deputy Regional Commissioner for the department, Grace Molatedi, says Jean Greyling was released from Grootvlei Prison under correctional supervision after serving only eight months of his four year sentence.
According to her the department only implements prison sentences imposed by the court.
She says Greyling will also be under house arrest.

Greyling was handed a prison sentence in October last year after he burned down the conference hall on his wedding day. He and his wife Lianné planned to get married at the venue but their reservation was cancelled after they failed to pay their account.
They got married the same day at a local restaurant.
