Community very angry over Kuruman schools situation─── OWEN KOCK 12:24 Mon, 25 Aug 2014

Kuruman - Tension in the Joe Morolong community has heightened over the situation in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District in Kuruman where no schooling has taken place for more than two months.
Violent protests erupted over a road the community wants tarred, after they’d allegedly been promised two years ago that it will be tarred.
According to the Joe Morolong Road Forum’s Kagisho Gaborokwe, the community feels that government undermines them and does not take them seriously because they live in a deep rural area of the Northern Cape.
This comes after a meeting with the community at the weekend to pave the way forward, for pupils to return to school, as the end of year exams are looming.
They now await confirmation from the education minister Angie Motshekga's office on whether she will visit Kuruman on Wednesday, otherwise they want an audience with President Jacob Zuma.
