Elderly woman killed in Bloemfontein accident─── 05:20 Wed, 17 Dec 2014
Bloemfontein - A woman was killed and another injured when their vehicle collided with a tree on the Jagersfontein road near Bloemfontein, paramedics said on Tuesday.
Paramedics found the severely damaged vehicle lying on its side with the two occupants still inside, ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said in a statement.
A woman in her 70s was rushed to Life Rosepark Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver, in her 40s and believed to be the deceased's daughter, sustained chest and spinal injuries.
She was transported to Pelonomi Hospital.
The cause of the accident would be investigated.
