Beleaguered Free State Health MEC holds health forum─── 11:15 Wed, 18 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - The Free State Health Department's financial woes have not yet formed part of discussions during a two day Provincial Consultative Health Forum that is underway today.
Free State Health MEC Benny Malakoane said the forum, which started yesterday, is being held with internal and external stakeholders regarding the department's policies and programmes. He said the department's budget was however not discussed.
The Health Department was again the spotlight recently when an inspection by the Public Service Commission found a shortage of staff, consumables and a backlog of maintenance of medical equipment at Pelonomi Hospital.
