Public hearings on failing FS health system to be held─── 11:25 Thu, 02 Jul 2015

Bloemfontein - The Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) will conduct public hearings on the state of Free State Health system next week.
Anele Yawa, the TAC's provincial general secretary, says the hearings - called People’s Commission of Inquiry - will be chaired by three independent panellists.
He says all roleplayers, including Free State Health MEC Benny Malakoane and members of the public, are invited to share their experiences at hospitals, clinics and community health centres in the province.
The hearings, which coincide with the case involving 117 community healthcare workers who were arrested after staging a peaceful sit-in at the province’s health headquarters, are set to take place at the Bloemfontein campus of the University of the Free State.
Yawa says the Free State is facing a serious health crisis.
