Probe claims of corruption, tender-rigging, mismanagement in Vryburg: Sanco─── 10:19 Thu, 15 Oct 2015

Vryburg - The South African National Civic Organisation in North West has called for a probe into allegations of corruption, tender-rigging and mismanagement in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality in Vryburg.
"Our communities cannot wallow in poverty and underdevelopment while some municipal officials, councillors and tenderpreneurs are allegedly swimming in the wealth of corruption which denies them basic services," SANCO provincial chairperson, Paul Sebegoe said.
Sebeoge called on authorities to get to the bottom of the allegations to ensure that the alleged rot is uprooted and monies lost to corruption recovered.
"We are concerned that nothing seem to have been done since the 2013/14 Auditor General's financial management report was supposedly handed to the Premier and Executive Mayor,Elvis Tladinyane ten months ago,"he stressed.
The allegations of the graft running into hundreds of millions of rands were revealed in a three part series published by The Star newspaper this week.
The paper alleged that companies that benefited from the graft include the late billionaire Wandile Bozwana's Tsoga Developers, Izwelethu Cemforce and companies in which some municipal officials and councillors have an interest.
