N8 re-opened after bus accident─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 20:34 Mon, 01 Feb 2016
Bloemfontein - The N8 between Bloemfontein and Botshabelo was re-opened a short while ago following a bus accident in which more than 40 passengers were injured.
Police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, says a bus driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle which overturned about 15km from Botshabelo late this afternoon. The bus landed on its side. He urged motorists to drive with caution when they approach the accident scene as the wreckage has not been removed from the scene yet.
Kareli says all 43 passengers on the Interstate bus, which was travelling from Thaba Nchu to Bloemfontein, sustained injuries and were rushed to different nearby hospitals. He says no fatalities were reported.
According to him, the bus driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Life Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein. The police investigation continues.
