Sasolburg - Six people, including two children, were killed in an accident on the R37 between Heilbron and Sasolburg in the Free State late last night.
Pieter Rossouw, ER24 spokesperson, said one person - a pregnant woman - survived the collision involving two light motor vehicles. He said paramedics treated and transported the pregnant woman to Sasolburg Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
According to eye witnesses, one of the vehicles allegedly swerved into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the other vehicle.
Rossouw said among the deceased patients was a seven-year-old boy and a teenage girl of about 14.
The cause of the collision remains unknown, however, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
