Sole survivor of FS accident remains critical─── 06:26 Mon, 07 Mar 2016
Sasolburg - A pregnant woman, who was the only survivor of an accident in which six people were killed on the R57 between Heilbron and Sasolburg, remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Free State police spokesperson, Livhuhani Hani, said the woman was transferred from the Sasolburg Provincial Hospital to the Kroonstad Hospital. The 33-year-old lost her baby as a result of the accident. Her husband and 9-year-old son were also killed.
All four passengers in the second vehicle involved in the accident - two adult males, one female and one child - were killed.
ER24 spokesperson, Pieter Rossouw, said according to eyewitnesses, one of the vehicles allegedly swerved into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the other vehicle.
