Potchefstroom - A woman was killed and four other people were injured in an accident on the N12 about 12 kilometres from Potchefstroom late last night.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha, said reports from the scene indicated that the errant party was travelling on the wrong side of the highway at the time of the accident. Exact details of the crash, however, will form part of the police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the wreckages and accident debris consistent with that of a high impact collision spread over a large area.
After triaging it was found that one person tragically died while four others sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.
Medics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to hospitals in Potchefstroom for the care that they required.
