Baaitjie murder accused back in court─── 07:07 Mon, 12 Dec 2016
Danielskuil - The case against six men who were arrested after the murders of late Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor, Johannes Baaitjie, and his business partner, Shuping Nouse, will resume in the Danielskuil magistrate's court today.
The case was postponed previously, in order for a suitable trial date to be determined.
Baaitjie and Nouse were allegedly lured into a business deal and shot along the main road between Postmasburg and Danielskuil in August, after the DA won the local election in the area.
Baaitjie died on the scene, while Nouse died in a Kimberley hospital a week later. It is believed that the murders were politically motivated. The accused remain in custody.
