In the Wepener district, the bodies of a farmer and a domestic worker were found by a neighbour in the house on the farm Pharoosfontein early yesterday afternoon. They were shot dead. 

Free State Agriculture's Tommie Esterhuyse says according to information the attack took place at about 11:00. Police spokesperson, Yanga Ngcukana, says they were shot several times by an unknown number of attackers. The house was ransacked but it is still unclear if anything is missing. 

Esterhuyse says in a second attack, a farmer whose elderly mother lives with him, was murdered on his farm Elim between Ladybrand and the Maseru border post at about 17:30. He says the farmer was murdered with a sharp object. According to information the farmer's mother was unharmed. 

The names of the deceased are known to OFM News but will not be released until all the family has been notified.
