No arrests yet in Bfn bank robbery─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 11:14 Wed, 07 Jun 2017
Bloemfontein - No arrests have been made yet in the bank robbery which occurred in Charlotte Maxeke Street in the Bloemfontein CBD on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, Fikiswa Matoti, says the five suspects who stole money from two cash-in-transit guards while they were in the process of collecting money from the bank, are still on the run.
Three men allegedly grabbed a trolley with money and ran across the street through a passage that led them to Elizabeth Street, while two others waited in two getaway cars.
Matoti told OFM News the suspects fled the scene in a blue Isuzu bakkie as well as a silver VW Polo. She says the police would like to urge the public to assist in the tracing of the five suspects.
The suspects allegedly fired one warning shot and no one was reported to be injured during the incident.
