The police in Bloemfontein have launched a manhunt for four suspects in connection with an armed robbery at a bank in the city's CBD.
Police spokesperson Sam Makhele says police in the area were alerted to the robbery just after 13:00. Four armed suspects apparently approached a cash-in-transit vehicle in front of the Standard Bank in Charlotte Maxeke Street, and held one of the security guards at gunpoint. It is still unclear whether any shots were fired, and if the security guards were injured. The suspects are travelling in a silver Mercedes Benz, and an undisclosed amount of cash was looted.
