Youth consultative forum held at Glass Palace─── NOMAQHAWE MTEBELE 15:16 Thu, 08 Mar 2018
The Youth Office in the Premier’s Office held a development forum at the Glass Palace, Bloemfontein, today.
The event was held in conjunction with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) with the purpose of consulting with stakeholders to improve youth development strategies in the Free State.
The department’s Tswelopele Manabile said that the forum intends to improve youth participation in entrepreneurship, skills development, and income-generating programmes. These programmes will be started by the government, business and civil society. According to Manabile, a session such as this is necessary to highlight the needs of local youth.
“We have got all sectors of young people led by the South African Youth Council but we have also invited all parties represented in the Free State Provincial Legislature,” stated Manabile. All sectors of young people were involved, including those from tertiary student representative councils, she said.
