Free State Hawks spokesperson, S'fiso Nyakane, says Matakata, who condemned the killing, will arrive at around 12:00 midday to not only visit the slain member’s family, but to also address Hawks members. 

The 52-year-old Tshabalala, was shot dead on Thursday evening whilst he was attending to a complaint in Phelindaba township. 

Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, told OFM News yesterday that it is believed the deceased was attacked when two or three unknown suspects entered a house and started firing shots. 

Tshabalala reacted and wounded one suspect, but succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The suspects fled with Tshabalala's service pistol, work phone and his state vehicle, which was later found abandoned in Dewetsdorp with blood stains inside the vehicle.
