Woman killed in Welkom hit-and-run─── MARK STEENBOK 11:08 Sun, 17 Jun 2018
Welkom - A woman in her thirties has been killed after she was knocked over by a car on the Koppie Alleen Road.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, told OFM News that the woman’s body was found lying in the middle of the road, when ER24 paramedics along with Provincial Services arrived on the scene last night.
He says paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.
Meiring says she was declared dead on the scene.
“The light motor vehicle had come to a stop a short distance away after it had collided with another vehicle. The two occupants in the vehicle were treated for their injuries and were transported by another service to a nearby hospital. The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
