Business women of note crack the whips in NC─── 11:40 Thu, 30 Aug 2018
An aspiring taxi businesswoman, Dineo Mecwi from Kuruman in the Northern Cape, says she has high hopes that the economic development function held today at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Center will set guidelines and help to achieve her dreams.
The MEC of Education, Martha Bartlett, will address the event held to honour women who contribute to the province's economic growth through the small medium enterprises they run locally.
Mecwi tells OFM News that like most women in the province, she is facing an uphill battle with potential investors. This did, however, not deter her from applying for funding at the local mines such as Kumba Iron Ore and Khumani, amongst others.
She says she has already registered her business with the South African Revenue Services in 2015 and has been growing since then.
Meanwhile, Segomotso Dingakeng, also from Kuruman, says she hopes that the function will help guide how to run her catering and decoration business that she has been running for seven years.
She also says she has been experiencing difficulty in funding, more especially when one runs a business by yourself.
